Evangeline would like for you to unleash your body’s fullest potential for expression, discovery, transformation and enjoyment. She sees the body as the starting point for alllllll the other kinds of magic. She has taught at post-graduate acting conservatories, summer camps, children’s birthday parties and at least one Druid retreat. She holds an MFA in Acting from CalArts, where she began her work in Somatic Experiencing with Stacy Dawson-Stearns. While there, she also learned Tai Chi and Alexander Technique, and a host of other body-based modalities for physical and vocal training. She has a yoga practice that’s old enough to legally drink in the U.S. She graduated from the BMC Course in the Endocrine System as well as the Intuitive Movement Guide’s 8-Week Intensive Somatic Exploration.
She’s curious about so many things! She’s like a somatic Miss Frizzle, taking a magic school bus through the deeper terrain of sensation in the body. Some questions she’s interested in exploring:
How can we use somatic experiences to help us express ourselves better, artistically or verbally?
How can sensation be used as a pathway for empowerment?
How can we use sensation as a tool for manifestation?
How can we heal past wounding, be it physical or emotional?
Who can benefit from this work: anyone with a body!
More specifically, though:
Actors seeking to improve body awareness, proprioception, on-camera confidence and directability
Dancers who are looking to enrich their technique
Athletes interested in exploring more nuanced anatomically-based body awareness for alignment and injury prevention
Regular humans who want to experience more mindfulness in their bodies
